Description

This is my version of the Santa Maria/Gaucho grill. These grills are designed and hand built in my shop here in western Kentucky! This is a drop-in unit for those of you building your outdoor kitchens! These Units are measured by their overall width at the widest point. The only thing that is wider than the width of the listing is the wheel handle and it will hang past the overall dimensions of the grill unit. The Grill will ship bare metal unless you order the coated version!

The construction of our grill should stand us apart from the other big names. Instead of paper-thin steel, we use 1/8” Mild Steel on everything except for the firebox and it is a bit thicker! Making our grill much more solid and robust. Where the other manufacturer uses a steel-on-steel fit for the horizontal drive shaft, we use oil-impregnated bronze bushings and roller bearings! In other words, my grill doesn’t screech or squeak as you raise it and it operates extremely smoothly! The grate is built strong enough that I myself can walk across it on the shop floor and it does not even flex! Instead of using the traditional cables that will fray over time, we use ANSI 40 roller chains common on dirt bikes, etc. The grill grate is HD enough that we designed gear reduction so that the hand wheel is very easy to operate! It is designed with a ratcheting style setup so as you crank the wheel the grill clicks and locks into place as it goes up, when going back down gently roll the handle forward and pull the lever and let it go down to the desired height. On the Round unit, I have more than doubled the gear reduction to compensate for the larger circular grill grate.

About the coatings I use as follows: The main tubular frame it is coated with a high temp liquid paint that has given us the best longevity. The gears, handwheel, and other small parts are all powder coated for superior protection. I have found that these parts are not in the hot zone and just look much nicer this way. you have two options flat black/gloss black or red/gloss black.
